"Unless you have 100% customer satisfaction, you must improve." These words, once penned by Horst Schulze, embody today more than ever the relentless pursuit of true excellence. As the founder and former president of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Horst Schulze is regarded as a pioneer in the luxury hospitality industry. He recognized early on that the most valuable resource of a hotel is its employees, who form the essential driving force behind creating the perfect guest experience. The motto coined by Schulze, "We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen," remains inseparably linked to the Ritz-Carlton brand to this day.
Inspired by Horst Schulze’s understanding of excellence and driven by my professional interest in luxury hospitality, I have made the search for the world's finest hotels my personal passion. Through this journey, I came to realize that the quest for excellence has become more relevant than ever. The majority of luxury hotels today offer features and amenities that are often interchangeable in their essence. Heated bathroom floors, subtle nightlights for nocturnal trips to the bathroom, or multifunctional flat-screen televisions have all become standard conveniences.
It is usually the service alone that distinguishes a true luxury hotel from a property merely branded as a five-star hotel. Five stars are not always equal, and "Superior" does not always mean superior.
On the following pages, I would like to share my experiences in the field of luxury hospitality through hotel reviews and recommendations of particularly outstanding establishments.
